Ex-San Juan police officer nabbed for swindling
MANILA
Agents of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) arrested in Guinobatan, Albay a former San Juan City police officer for his alleged involvement in various swindling cases in Metro Manila.
NBI Director lawyer Nestor M.Mantaring said Police Inspector Alvin N. Nisperos, formerly assigned to San Juan Police Station, Eastern Police District (EPD), was arrested based on nine arrest warrants issued by regional trial courts inh Pasig City, San Juan City and Camarines Sur.
Nisperos, a graduate of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) class 2000 (MAGILAS), had been on absent without official leave (AWOL) for several months prior to his arrest.
The NBI team, led by lawyer Manuel Antonio Eduarte, served the search warrants while Nisperos was riding on a motorcycle in Guinobatan, Albay.
The Camarines Sur Regional Trial Court (RTC) Branch 32 in Pili town ordered Nisperos detention at the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) in Del Rosario, Naga City.
He went into hiding in Barangay Parlyaan, Guinobatan for several months until his arrest.
He faces five counts of estafa charges before the Pasig Regional Trial Court and one count before the Makati Metropolitan Trial Court (MTC) Branch 66. He also faces four counts of violation of Batas Pambansa 22 (bouncing check) before the San Juan Metropolitan Trial Court Branch 58.
Nisperos has also a pending car theft case before the Pili (Camarines Sur) RTC Branch 32.(PNA)?
