Cotabato City Motorcycle Bomb Kills One, Injures Seven

Quezon Avenue rocked by bomb blast - updated at bottom, 2 dead?

COTABATO CITY?

A bomb hidden in what is suspected to be a motorcycle has killed at least one person and injured seven others in this city.

Police Chief Superintendent Benjardi Mantele confirmed a 53 year old man named as Gemana Ali has been killed with seven others injured, although other local reports say a?5 year old?girl has also died.

One of the injured is?7 year old boy who is said to be in a bad way.

The bomb went off in front of ?the CWAT Guns and Ammunition store in Quezon Avenue at 2pm local time.

The three story building which also houses a pharmacy and an IT firm was extensively damaged as were several vehicles parked outside.

Nobody has yet claimed responsibility for the bomb which is suspected to have been set off remotely, possibly by radio or a cellphone.

The latest update from the army confirms two people have died with ten people injured.
