Nabs World?s Best Casino, Integrated Resort of the Year Award for Galaxy World Macau in China
Manila and Hong Kong - Feb 2012: The Goddard Group, the design firm for Enchanted Kingdom (EK), has received yet another award for their design of ?Galaxy World Macau' in China. The world class resort was the recipient for ?World's Best Casino Award' at the prestigious International Gaming Award(IGA) held in London. The Goddard Group, a CA based firm, provided the concept, master planning, schematic design, and show design of the massive $1.9 billion Galaxy World Macau, which opened to the public in Macau, China in May 2011.
The shortlist for the award was comprised of the most high profile integrated resort properties from across the globe. The IGA is but the fourth major award that the Galaxy Macau has won since its opening. It has also garnered "Best Integrated Resort" Award at the Top Travel Awards event which was held in Beijing in December 2011.
The design firm is also the creative force behind the concept and master plan of local theme park, Enchanted Kingdom(EK), situated in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, approximately 29KM away (roughly 2 hours' worth of trip) from Manila. EK, labeled as ?the Disney Land of the Philippines,' has remained successful after more than a decade of operation.

Garry Goddard, CEO of the Goddard Group, shares his experiences in designing Enchanted Kingdom and his other projects in Asia.
"With regards to the overall idea of designing in Asia, we take time to understand the local culture, the local competition, and the tastes and habits of the local audience when it comes to entertainment and going out. Whether it is a 3000 room mega casino resort in Macau, or a theme park in Manila, or a retail mall in Jakarta, or a destination resort in China - we take the time to bring the best of Western thinking and planning, and merge it with the eastern cultures to create a hybrid that appeals to both local and international guests" Goddard said in an interview.
"[As for Enchanted Kingdom], the movies were a common denominator then - everyone loved the big Hollywood style movies and we agreed that a theme park based upon the idea of movies would be unique for the Philippines. The idea was to give the families of Manila and the Philippines a truly unique theme park where, for a day, one could escape to a world of fantasies, adventures, and fun - with movie genres and worlds as the common denominator."
Aside from EK, the Goddard Group also worked with business tycoon, Henry Sy(SM Development), in developing SM Storyland Adventure Theme Park, also in the Philippines.
